about

Jamaican Homecoming was recorded at the BBC's Maida Vale studios in September 1984.

lyrics

From the twelve tribes of Israel to the Beverley High Road,
Learning once again that the English speak in code,
Returning to your quiet life and your red brick reverie,
While up in the Blue Mountains, bodies freeze.

Forgive me for auditioning, for looking for a role,
Your stock in trade is reality and we play rock and roll.

Jamaican homecoming, Jamaican home truths,
Jamaican homecoming, Jamaica is coming home.

See Regatta d’Blanc go laughing to the bank,
See Regatta d’Blanc go laughing to the bank.
